At this time, we’re all doing our part to keep ourselves and our families free from the coronavirus that causes COVID-19. Handwashing, social distancing, and wearing masks are all very effective in helping us keep ourselves away from it. However, it may also be worth thinking about some other ways that we can keep this virus out of our homes.
For example, while many people have a regular routine of cleaning their home, most people don’t even think about a very simple step with profound effects – disinfecting touchpoints. Using common disinfectant solutions, or even a simple bleach solution (5 tablespoons of bleach for every gallon of water) to wipe down areas such as car doors and trunks, garage doors, light switches, and doorknobs can be enough to kill the coronavirus that causes COVID-19.
Disinfecting these areas regularly and whenever you arrive home from essential activities is a simple, quick, cost-effective way to avoid many harmful viruses that may be lurking around your home.
